Finding your dream wedding dress is very exciting but as with any new experience it can also be a bit confusing

Do I need to book an appointment to try on wedding dresses?


Yes, it is always advisable to book an appointment to view and try on our wedding gowns. We like our brides, their family & friends to have a wonderful experience & privacy. It is for this reason that we operate on an appointment only basis for bridal. Its really easy to make an appointnemnt via our online booking system, or just give us a call or direct message on social media. We will let you know if its the diary is booked or if its ok for you to just pop in.




How many guests should I bring with me?


Most brides find that it is quite helpful to bring a friend or family member to their bridal appointment, after all, is an important decision & an exciting time. In our experience any more than 4 guests can be a little overwhelming for the bride. However, we understand that some brides would like to bring more guests, & we can make arrangements for this. Just let us know if you plan to bring more quests to your first visit with us when booking.




How long does a wedding dress appointment usually last?


Our standard weekend bridal appointments are typically an hour long for trying on wedding dresses. However, we do have a pre-appointment process which really helps our brides get the most out of their hour. If you think that you will require a longer appointment we can certainly arrange this on a weekday or evening appointment.




Do I need to bring anything with me to my appointment?


Please wear underwear that is preferably flesh, ivory or white coloured. A strapless bra is always a good option too, but its not essential. You are welcome to bring accessories but we also have lots of options available to try in store. Our sample gowns are very long, so shoes aren't nessasary but an option if youd like to bring some along to your appointment Please do not wear false tan, and we do ask brides to wear a minimal amount of make-up in order to protect the gowns.




Can I bring children to my appointment?


We have chldren ourselves and love them dearly. The boutique space is over two floors & we have mannequins with bridal & occcasion on display, its really not an ideal space for children or prams. However, we respect that its sometimes impossible for our brides to arrange an appointment without children & would never say you can't bring them. If this is the case, please contact us so that we can arrange an appoitment for a day time that is quieter & more suitable for you. Please be aware that pushchairs will need to be left downstairs where your appointment has been arranged in our exclusive upstairs bridal suite.




What is you price range?


Our bridal gowns range from £800 to £2500 for pre-ordered gowns that are ordered in store espxecially for you, & £1500 to £3000 for more custom gowns. Often the style of the gown you are like can dictate the price, & we would encourage our brides to have a budget in mind that they would like to stick prior to their appointment. If you fall in love with a style & it is over budget, dont worry. There is sometimes the option to buy the dress off the peg or find a similar alternative so please don't be shy, let us know if this is the case. l




What size dresses do you stock?


We try to represent all shapes and sizes within the boutique, & stock from UK 6-24. The Majority of our dresses sit between UK size 10 & 20, & most of our designers size up to UK 30. We are always happy to advise plus size brides.




Is everything on the website available in store?


We work hard to keep our website up to date, and do this ourselves without any fancy tech team. With this in mind, we can sometimes have a very busy week or two where we have just not managed to update our website how we would usually like. To be 100% sure, its best just to contact us to check.




How far in advance should I order my wedding dress?


Most gowns arrive between 6 & 9 months after the order is placed, & we recomend that you also allow 12 weeks for any alterations & for anything that falls out of your control. 12 months is a good starting point, & would allow most brides a good choice of gowns, along with a relaxed no 'time pressure' experience. Having said this, some brides need longer to find & choose their gown, & some brides need to start their search much closer to the wedding date for a range of reasons. The main thing is to consder the advice given, but never to feel pressured. Its important that you start looking when you feel it is right for you as every bride is different. If you're working towards a date which is much closer than 12 months, there are always options such as rush cut gowns that are usually 4 months from order to delivery. And of course, there may always be the option to buy a wedding gown off the peg.




Do you offer an alteration service?


We are very fortunate that we are able to offer all our brides the opportunity to have their fittings at the boutique. Our seamstress is independant, but the process and your in-store experience from purchase, through alterations, onto preparation packing & to collection is seamless & perfect. Alternatively you can arrange to collect your gown and take to a seamstress of your choice




Do you offer a dry cleaning service?


Yes, we offer a drop & collect sevice to all our brides that have puchased their wedding dress from Romancia. We can arrange for the gown to be brought back to store & we will take it to our preferred dry cleaner. We usually do a weekly run to the dry cleaners with our shop gowns, so we can usually have our brides gown complete and back within 7 days. We find this particularly useful for our destination brides when they return from their wedding & plan to wear their wedding gown again for a UK celebration. If you require it sooner, please contact as we may still beable to help.
